READY FOR SOMETHING MORE ADVANCED?
If your sailor has had more than one summer of sailing in Optis or Lasers, or has done at least two sessions of Opti or Laser in Summer 2022, they may be ready for a more advanced course*.
NEW THIS YEAR! HIYC is offering an Advanced Opti and Advanced Laser Session during Session 4 (6/27-7/1)
These sessions are for sailors that are ready to single-hand (sail alone), learn more specifics about boat handling and sail trim to go faster, and want to learn the basics of racing in regattas. This will prepare sailors for the Race Clinic and Youth Regattas to be held in July (more info coming soon!). Look for these sessions as options in the registration process! Space is Limited!
*Please email hiycsummer@gmail.com or talk with your summer session coach to determine if you are ready for the Advanced sessions!

About Us:
In 2022, Harbor Island Yacht Club will host our 33rd year of our Youth Sailing Program. Our Sail Camp program is intended for children and teens ages seven through 17. It is structured to build sailing skills from beginners through advanced sailors. Our goal is to introduce children and teens to sailing, but also to racing, and to build advanced knowledge of small boat handling in a safe, fun environment. The program is taught by knowledgeable, trained young adults, and caring counselors all of whom are required to complete a full week of staff training and instructors have US Sailing Instructor certification. HIYC Sail Camp is managed by the non-profit Nashville Sailing Foundation.
HIYC Sail Camp is managed and funded by the registered non-profit Nashville Sailing Foundation. Consider making a donation to help pay for scholarships for summer sailors as well as needed equipment. You help make sailing possible for all Nashville youth!
